Dear friends! The dresses are done and runway ready! OR aisle ready, I should say. By the end of the fitting phase, I was referring to them as my six little blueberries. Especially since blueberries are in season right now (bless them!). I’m waiting to unveil the final look until the wedding day, but have no fear, the blueberries will be documented.

With the completion of the dress project, I was able to start outfitting the baby’s room. This means, rearranging and re-purposing the Yellow Room. I started by sweeping up the mounds of blue thread that have attached to everything in sight. Moved on to dusting and other boring tasks. Then I spotted some Cath Kidston wrapping paper I’d picked up in the UK a few years ago. It just screamed drawer liner. And since I’ve planned on using the vintage green dresser as the changing table bottom, what could be more perfect? I was cooing with delight.

Boring drawers…

Transformed with cupcakes and CK. I intend to get a plastic liner as well to go over the top of these. Further sealing in the beauty.

Yesterday after spending the afternoon shopping at the shi-shi mall, we stopped at this darling place for cake. Oh such delight! The owner let us taste whichever cakes we liked, and after all our testing and oohing, ahhhing &c., we resolved to get the Lemon Custard Pie, and the Southern Caramel Buttercream Cake. We just about floated out on a sugar cloud when we left. Mmm MMmm!

For any of you who know me well, you know that mid-January is one of my most highly anticipated times of the year. Why you may ask? Well. It is the oh-so-joyous time of the Starbucks Vanilla Vaudevillian Bean Cupcake. I pretty much swoon as soon as I see one of these little beauts. And this is for several reasons.

1. About four years ago was having a TRULY gray dismal, gorse-bush filled season, and yet that was the very moment when the very first Starbuck Cupcake, then called a “Sunshine Cupcake” [see picture below] entered my life.

It brought a sweet little glimmer of sweet hope, and I’ve always been grateful to the Lord for this little Ebenezer of faithfulness.

2. They are quite pretty. Simple and pretty.
3. They are not too sweet, just the perfect hint of sweetness, but not too much.

Sweetly enough, my friends and dear mother were able to track down a copy recipe of this cupcake, and low and behold managed to have it as our wedding cake. Perfection, I tell you perfection. This photo is complements of our dear photog, Naomi Elle.

MmmMm. Great to start on a project, but even more fun to be right in the middle of it, enjoying the progress — in my case one bunting flag at a time.

Been slowly working on the bunting. Yesterday added the fusible interfacing strips to the flags to make them reversible. And really, I must say they look marvelous. What do you think?

And now, once sewn and strung up around my little shadow box (complements of my dear Grandfathers), dont they look just about as precious as you can get? I must say, I do love the little ones. But I always love little things. Cannot resist.

Naturally one would like a detail pic of the birdie salt shakers.

I’m only about 25% done with the bunting at this point. Many more ironing and stitching phases in store for Mrs. T. But it is coming along just swimmingly. Thought you’d enjoy a status check.

Yesterday a dear friend also popped over, and we made cupcakes from scratch! They are the Mud Cupcakes that are supposed to be lava-ish and gooey in the middle. Ours were magnificent, although we didn’t quite achieve the lava-levels in the middle. Here is a snap of the inspiration and creation.
